I love and hate this course. It is a city owned course that has been contracted out because of tough city finances. The contractors have a tough job because there are not enough locals that play and the area does not get a huge tourist turnout in the winter. I am sure money is tight and this has had an effect on the course. They do the best they can with what they got and they try and encourage outside play. The small staff is great and you are not going to find anything cheaper in south Florida. The course's two nines were designed many years apart and have two different characters. The front nine plays short with small upside down bowl greens. The back nine is more modern and plays long with larger greens. The winter wind can have a stong effect on your game. You will not find a house in sight, only farmland and the big lake's dike. I love the isolation of the course and watching the crop dusters dancing in the sky. I to come here to work on my game as there is no pressure from a crowded course. The handicap and slow rating indicates it is an easy course but I tell you it is not. If you hit and hold all the greens you're a hell of a golfer. Its just a shame the greens aren't in better shape because if they were I might be able to get some of my friends to join me way out there in the glades.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
