A wonderful layout.
Very challenging - many of the holes are of the "very tough par, easy bogey" variety, meaning that you must plan your attack on the hole carefully, then execute those shots fairly accurately. The penalty for missing your target can be severe. A fair number of blind shots on the back 9. There is a total of 7 forced carries off the tee. Overall, course knowledge is a big advantage.
Front nine is fairly level; back nine has a lot of elevation changes (the nines were switched around the end of 2019). There are houses on the fairways of 6 holes; the rest have none, and the back nine is pretty much out in the wilderness - very pretty - except for one hole.
Greens and fairways are almost always in excellent shape and fairly fast - except for the once- or twice-yearly aerification.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
I have played this course over 50 times and really love playing there.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area
