$16 (cart included), played on Wednesday, April 2006 at noon

This is a fun course; it's not long, but it does require that you not stray far from fairways. However, the traps are little more than dirt, including the pebbles and rocks, and at least three of the greens on the back nine had large areas with no grass at all, and about half a dozen were being aerated.

The worst part was the grounds crew. As my partner was teeing off on 14, a cart with two keepers drove right in front of him, and didn't reappear; when we went to check their location, there were three carts and four employees taking a break in the middle of the fairway. For the next four holes, the sprinklers came on just as we were getting ready to hit, including while on the green on 17 (the water flowed between my feet and the ball. At least four holes had large spots of standing mud. The pro shop seemed completely unconcerned about all of it.

I'll play it again, but only because it's close and not that expensive... and I'll definitely call before reserving a tee time to find out what condition the greens are in.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
