After 60 years as a memeber of a prominent D. C. area country club, I find Musket Ridge to be the best course in the area, far above the usual daily fee track. Built for golfers not home owners. No adjacent home sites.

Superb drainage that they say allows you to play within fifteen minutes of a thunder storm!

Architect took great pains to utilize the mountain side grade separations. #1 is a great example with the tee box at least 100 feet above the target landing area with a large pond along the right side and the green tucked in around and behind it. Great git-go hole. Only serious problem is poorly maintained sand traps. Rewoking on the front nine underway. No two holes anywhere near alike. Great par 5s that a good player can reach in two.

At 82 years of age, I have shot my age each of the last 3 years. Rarely find a bad lie. Benefits in joining the Blue-GRay club. Can not wait for the opening of the 2009 season.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Best course in the area
