Oakmont East is (for me) a challenging executive-style course. Par is 63, but it could be higher. There are several 200 yard par 3 holes from the white tees. Also their signature hole is a 170 yd par 3 requiring a tee shot carrying about 160 yds to clear a creek, and straight as an arrow to clear large oaks protecting both sides of the green--and if you are too long, you are in a bunker. In my opinion, the course puts a high premium on accuracy and distance control. The layout is interesting and unique. Even though it is surrounded by houses, they are set back enough that they are not a problem or a distraction.
Would travel: 30-60 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area
