Played here Memorial Day 2013 for the first time. Rate through my hotel was $48, which is excellent for a course of this quality.
I played Azalea-Magnolia, and was very pleased with the layout and conditions...and it even smelled good, with all of the magnoliaas in blossom! Many of these Carolina courses look a lot alike, and this one is no exception, but having said that, Brunswick is very nicely maintained, and that complements the mature design. There are a couple of holes that get a bit close to the housing, but most have reasonable buffer distances. Conditions today were very good: greens were very firm (hardly possible to leave a ball mark), but they putted fairly slowly...not sure how that works, exactly. Also, a few greens have some burned spots, which does not bode well for the coming hot months. Staff was uniformly excellent: very pleasant, and pleased to have the business.
Residents/locals pay about $35 to play here, and that's a real bargain. I highly recommend!
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
