$26 (cart included), played on Tuesday, October 2008 at 10am

Our group of travelling seniors played here 10-7-08, paid $30, which included cart with GPS, a very good deal. Course is co-located with a "resort/conference center," so the amenities are quite nice.

The course is OK, but has a few quirks. Layout is pretty good, takes full advantage of the elevation change, and follows the terrain well. However, there are three or four holes which run closely parallel, and they can be quite dangerous. Also there are a couple of holes that are just kinda hokey: #6 is a VERY narrow par 4 which requires a planned carom off the hillside in the right rough to get a ball safely in the fairway. #16 is a steeply downhill dog-leg right from a tee box about 80 feet above the narrow fairway, over encroaching trees: very tough tee shot. Other than that, the course is fine.

Tee boxes tend to be smallish, and many are sloping both left-to-right and front-to-back. Fairways are generally fairly wide and receptive, bunkers are many, and today they were very firm, with some really heavy-grained sand. Greens tend to be large, and while not tiered, are tilted, some fairly severely. All putt moderately fast. Conditions were very nice today, with the exception of the bunkers, as noted above.

Pro shop staff was cordial and welcoming, but we got stuck behind a shotgun start outing of some sort, which made for a very slow first 11 holes, after which we moved along nicely. However, a few holes later, the Ranger felt obliged to caution one of our groups to pick up the pace, even though they were not being pushed, and had tolerated the ultra-slow play to that point. Needless hassle, which dampened an otherwise pleasant round.

Overall, this is a nice course, and worth the trip to play.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
