Our group of travelling seniors played here 8-18-09, for a mere $20 with the Tee Time Golf Pass, this is a VERY good deal for this course.

Layout is full of interesting challenges, with a lot of elevation change, lotsa woods, some water, and enough sand to keep one focused on the business at hand. No two holes look alike, and in the few cases where the course adjoins housing, the homes are far enough away to not be a distraction. Fairways generally have a wide landing area, and greens are medium to large, most are fairly flat, with minimal contouring. Several of the tee boxes are not level, and that is annoying. Course is probably not walkable for most seniors due to elevation changes and distances between some greens and the next tee.

Conditions today: Tee Boxes were OK; Fairways were in decent shape for mid-August, with plenty of grass and very few bare spots; Bunkers were only fair, most had adequate sand and were recently raked, but some were very hard with a very thin layer of sand; Greens were very good, putted medium fast and true.

Clubhouse is OK, and the pro shop is small but adequate. Staff is very nice, BUT, since it is a dry township, there is no beer available in the snack bar. The course management is very understanding about bringing in one-s own adult beverages, and offers a nice outdoor pavilion for "apres-golf" libations. However, our group went down the road to the Briarwood golf course, which is only a mile away, and enjoyed our Yuengling and french fries there.

Our group opinion is that Honey Run is a nice course, and worth a visit.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

This is an update of my earlier review. Our Seniors' group played here 5-22-12. Course is in good shape: bunkers were a little firm, but the recent rains had most to do with that. Greens were excellent! The big news is that the course now has a liquor license, and has added a very nice bar and an expanded deck, to make it more attractive to golfers like us for their after-round enjoyment. Prices are reasonable, and the service staff was terrific. We recommend!
