Played here 8-15-12, and it is a wonderful golfing experience. A little pricey, considering course conditions, but not outrageously so. About conditions: weather this summer in the greater DC area has been VERY hot, without much rain, so courses in general are sufering, and LP is no different. A couple of greens had to be aerated to cope with the extreme temps, and several had rough spots in them. Grounds crews were patching some of the greens as we played. At least two fairways had sizable dead patches, and all of the ponds were down a foot or so, despite heavy rain in the previous 24 hours. Having said all of that, this is one excellent golf course. Varied terrain, tall trees, good use of the natural contours of the landscape. Lots of risk/reward shots available to the bold. Course winds through an upscale development, but the houses are never intrusive, and are not in most shot sight-lines. A fair number of bunkers, all in decent shape, and a number of tricky visuals, where the designer made the shot look togher than it really is. This is a course that makes you want to come back. Not walkable IMHO, as there are some significant distances between holes, and lots of verticality. Pace of play was very good: groups are on 10 minute intervals, and our foursome never had to wait, nor was the group behind ever pushing us. Good course management! Staff was excellent, and clubhouse facilities are everything expected. I highly recommend!
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area
