$36 (cart included), played on Tuesday, September 2008 at 10am

Our group of travelling seniors played here 9-30-08 for $40, which is a great price for a course of this quality.

The layout takes full advantage of the terrain: lots of elevation change, especially on the front nine, and plenty of water, especially on the back.

Course is not walkable, in my view: long distances between greens and tees and many hills. Conditions were excellent. Because of wet conditions, we were restricted to cart path only yesterday, so it was VERY SLOW...

Some very interesting holes, starting with the first, a downhill, dogleg par 4, with a pretty good carry across a creek and a stone wall on the second shot. #3 is a medium length downhill par 3 over a rocky creek/marsh to a green right in front of a red rock wall: it is a beautiful golf hole. Scenery is spectacular on several other holes too, including #8, #12, and #18. The back side is much flatter than the front, and has lots of parallel water, on #13, 14, 15, 17, and 18: these holes are actually pretty boring compared to the rest of the course.

The scorecard doesnt give much help on the layout, so first-time players might want to buy a yardage book, or hook up with someone who has gone around before. We play here about once or twice a year, so we kinda know it, but there is still lots of trouble...and we managed to find most of it! It is a difficult course, so if you do not hit them straight, plan on investing in golf balls.

Clubhouse is nice, and the staff was congenial. The course is nominally in Gettysburg, but it is really well out in the country, and can be a little diffult to find: make sure you have directions before setting out. Also, the course gets a fair amont of group play, so call ahead to ensure you can get on. Excellent, challenging track: we recommend it!

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
