$41 (cart included), played on Tuesday, August 2008 at noon

Our group of travelling seniors plays PN about twice a year, most recently 8-19-08. It is a superb golf course by any measure, and at $41, a real bargain. Unfortunately, it is a little far for us to travel or we would play it more often.

The layout is almost linksy, since there are few trees that come into play on Iron Forge, but there is a lot of elevation change, and the architect did a really great job of matching the course to the terrain. Some awesome holes, notably #15, which is one my all-time favorites, and I have played a few hundred different courses around the world. Conditions were excellent in August, and the course superintendent deserves a real Attaboy. Tee boxes are large, flat, and were in great shape. Fairways have large landing areas, and were lush. Bunkers are plentiful, and were very playable. Greens tend to be large and modestly contoured, and putt fairly quickly.

Staff is exceptional! One down note: no liquor license in a dry township, so if you want a beer, bring your own, and they are very accommodating about that.

Very highly recommend!!

Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
