Our group traveled from the frozen north to play here, and we loved every minute, even the frost delay. Delightful course, beautiful terrain, cordial staff, and one of the best golf experiences ever. Course is challenging, but fair, and has enough variation to keep one's attention.
A couple of minor concerns: the back tee box for #5 is VERY close to #4 green: we waited to make our approach shots to #4 until the #5 tee cleared. Same situation with #12 green and #13 tee.
This is a Donald Ross design, so be prepared for redan greens with sharp roll-offs: always play for the middle of the green!
The scorecard has no layout or hole diagrams: it's pretty basic (classic, some would say).
Overall, we were very happy with our choice to play this course. All of its accolades are well-earned. We very highly recommend!
Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level
Condition of Course, Ambiance, Staff, Pro Shop, Layout, Clubhouse
