$36 (cart included), played on Thursday, August 2012 at 8am
Played here at 0900 on Thursday, 8-23-12, for $39, including cart. No senior rate available. Price goes up after 10 AM, and is higher on Fridays. Course has three nines, and we played Woods and Prairie. Both are similar in style, and the design is pretty compact, with adjacent fairways quite close sometimes. Sight lines almost always include at least two other golf holes: designer probably had little choice, but it feels a little claustrophobic. Elevation changes everywhere, some quite dramatic, and that's a bit unusual for this part of the country. I liked the layout, and think it compares favorably with almost every other course I've seen in Wisconsin. Conditions were pretty good, considering the regional drought this summer: fairways and tee boxes were fine, bunkers were OK. Greens, however, were a different story, as nearly all had large burnt areas, especially along the edges. Pace was pretty slow, as we had two dawdling foursomes in front of us, and never saw a ranger anywhere. Course is walkable for the fit: elevation changes are significant! Staff we met were very friendly, and made us feel welcome. Keep your expectations realistic, and Pleasant View will meet them. I recommend!
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
