I play this course evry year when we vacation at the Outer Banks (OBX). Since this is a resort area, prices are much higher than this course (or any of the others) really deserve. I paid $89, and that was the lowest fee in the area, except for Goose Creek, which is HORRIBLE. Anyway, it is a nice course, but if it were in the suburbs of say, Richmond or Baltimore, it would get less than half the price.

Lay-out is very flat, but there is good use of sand, trees and water, so it is not a boring wide open type of place. Fairays are wide and usually lush, bunkers are good, and the greens are fairly large, fairly flat, and putt medium slow.

Staff is always excellent, and the pro shop is nice. The snack bar was being remodeled during my last visit in early August, 2008. This is a sister corse to the Carolina Club, which is a few miles up the road, and a few dollars more expensive. If you are vacationing in OBX, this is a good course to try.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
