Our group played here 3-1-16 as an "en route" stop on our annual trek to Williamsburg. We will not do that again. Cost us $20 with the Tee Time Book, and that was a fair price. Course is not at all convenient to any major arteries, and can only be found with a really good GPS: OnStar directions don't work well, either. Best advice I can give is to take directions off the course web site.
Anyway, the course itself is undistinguished: very flat, few elevation changes, water on only a few holes, and not much bunkering. Tee boxes are typically raised about a foot above surrounding terrain. Fairways are generously wide, Best feature of the layout is the greens, which are large and mildly sloped, Conditions today were not real good: fairways were damp, browned out and very thin. Bunkers super firm. Greens, however, were excellent: quick and true.
Staff we met were excellent.
Take this course for what it is: an unpretentious, affordable stop for local golfers. A good spot for juniors to learn the game, and for a fun day. It is most definitely NOT a recommended travel stop.
