Our group of travelling seniors played here 10-14-08, for the second time this year. Course has three nines, and we played White-Gold.

All three nines are very challenging, with ratings around 70 and slopes above 130. Layout is quite nice, a fair amount of water, good use of elevation changes, and lots of mature trees. Some excellent holes on each nine, especially #2 of the Gold nine, a 350 yard dogleg left, with a large, intimidating pond in the corner of the bend: it is the #1 handicap hole on that nine, and very much deserves to be. Course has seven par 3-s, and five of them are over serious water. Views from a couple of the tee boxes are really spectacular. Tee boxes are generally fairly small, but relatively flat. Fairways are pretty wide, and the many bunkers well placed. Greens are medium large, some are quite significantly contoured/sloped, and all usually putt medium fast.

Conditions today were a little disappointing: many of the fairways have large patches of dead grass, and the rough was seriously juicy, and in need of mowing. The greens were aerated a few weeks ago, and have not come back yet: they are lumpy, bumpy and very unpredicatble.

Course is not especialy well marked for distances, so a hand held GPS is a real value when playing here.

Clubhouse is modest, snack bar is too. The restaurant upstairs is excellent, but not open most weekdays. Staff is always friendly, and the starters deserve a special nod for their eagerness to assist.

This is a very nice layout that needs some more TLC and maintenance money. Still, we recommend it, as the senior rate of $30 is very competitive for the area.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
