Our group of travelling seniors played here 7-7-09, enticed by the $45 senior rate, which is a pretty good deal for a course of this quality.
Tough golf course: the published slope and rating seemed too low to us. Slope from the White tees is 125, and we though 130 would be more appropriate.
The course is a very imaginatively designed course with lots of natural areas, and excellent use of terrain and elevation changes. Exceptionally beautiful course from almost every tee box, except #18, which has heavy weeds and brush growing wildly directly in front of the White tee box. No two holes look, or play, quite alike, and every one of our group felt that they could score 5 or more strokes better on a replay, just having learned a little about the layout.
This is a course thst you will want to come back to. Conditions were generally good, with the notable exception of the bunkers which were very thin, hard, and filled with small rocks. Not at all up to the standards otherwise.
A word or two about the greens: they are very large, and very fast, and most are devilishly sloped. Good luck getting through a round without a three putt! A word of advice: do not put your approach shot above the hole on any green.
Clubhouse and pro shop are nice, but food items are a little pricey. Staff is uniformly professional and helpful. We had a problem with the GPS in our cart, and the cart guys moved quickly to resolve the issue. We highly recommend!
Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
