It's the only pubic course for over 100 miles. The next closest public course is flatter than a table top and not much of a challenge. The biggest drawback to Key West Golf Club is it's lack of distance. Land is at a premium here so from the tips it's only about 6500 yds. With water in play on a majority of holes, and OB on the rest, it's not a course for bombers. I average about 265 off the tee and only use driver about half the time. The course puts a premium on accuracy off the tee and it's usually in pretty good shape. They are letting the greens get a bit smaller so they'll use less water but for the length of the course they are about the right size. There are only 2 par 5's but enough short par 4's make birdie opportunities plentiful.
Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Best course in the area
