First let me state that the pace of play is fast because the club I play with tees off at sunrise every Sun morn. We move along briskly, finishing in 3-3 1/2hrs. I can't account for any group behind us. Also, I say priced fairly because we're not in daylight savings so we tee off at 6:30AM and start on the 2nd hole to further speed play, thefore, we play for $38 w/cart.
That said, it is a city course but I've seen and played a lot worse. The only real gripes I have are that the greens are always a bit slow, except on hot sunny afternoons when it's dried out a bit. The other gripe I have is that the bunkers are not sand traps, they are more like soil/dirt traps.
It's a fair course but I think it plays a little tougher than the slope rating. There are mature trees that you must stay out of, water comes into play on several holes and the bunkers are always a threat.
That said, I like the course. It's the best one in the L.A. area for $55 w/cart on a weekend.
The Sunday morning pro at the shop is always good for laughs. He could do stand-up comedy as a side job, he's that funny.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Best course in the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
