This is an ultra private course so you need an "in". Mine was a friend of a friend. The design is by Coore and Crenshaw and is one of the best that I have ever played. It is difficult for the top player yet enjoyable for the high handicapper. The greens are very large so you need to place the ball nearer the hole to avoid three putts. We were one of only a few groups that played that day. Once we teed off we saw only (occasionally) the group behind us and only one other group when we were on the 11th green. The staff made us feel like we belonged even though we were just one time guests. They are clearly very proud of their club and course. The only places in southern New Jersey which rank with Hidden Creek are (of course) Pine Valley and Metedeconk, but I would put HC above Metedeconk. Unlike HC's near neighbor Galloway, you do not stand on tees wondering "what the hell do I do here". Some of the bunkers are very penal, but they can be avoided.
If you get the chance to play here, do not pass it up.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level, Expensive and worth it, Best course in the area
Condition of Course, Pace of Play, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course, Clubhouse
