Generals Ridge is a difficult layout, with thick rough lining the fairways and greens. Being accurate off the tee and from the fairway is less than half the battle, because the greens have extreme slopes and a missed putt can put you two or three times the distance from the hole from where you started.
Courses with trick layouts are never high in my book, and this course is worse than most. The only positive factor is the price, which is lower than most courses in the Northern Virginia area.
If you are willing to put up with constantly hacking out of the rough and having your ball roll off the green with a missed put, the price is right.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
