Lake Forest is constantly maintained with an energentic greens keeper. The new Champion bermuda greens are superb. The preparation for the new greens has replaced the quirker bounces with baffleing breaks. A lot of tree removal has provided sunny greens full of grass. There are occasional places in the rough where shale breaks through the grass and those are usually marked under repair. If not, they are really tough lies. There are few walkers on this course becaue it is so up and down. The sixteenth green is at least two clubs above the fairway and your ball can back up off the false front and really ruin a great hole.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
