Great design. New ownership has led to changes that will make course better in 2011. Fairway grass changed to Bermuda with rye rough area. They have shaped and tightened fairways making it tougher. There are plans to redo sand traps next year as they are a mix of crushed marble and sand and inconsistent but when dry ok. The greens are getting healthy and they have invested in equipment to improve. Still an opportunity to get greens consistent as some greens vary in speed. Course could be better marked. Stakes and painted lines are inconsistent.
Pro shop has basics and average assortment, opportunity exist to improve. Resturant food is good and even though there are many wedding events on weekends, lunch menu is good. They offer a beer after the round for the price of temperature...always under a buck. Driving range is a bit of drive, save time and drive to range first as shuttle takes a while. No grass area to hit from and mats need to be upgraded. I heard they may allow grass hitting next year? Range balls were just upgraded but some old still mixed in. No food or drink at range so bring it with you if planning to practice. Practice chipping area available for short chips and sand practice, although conditions differ from course.
Would travel: 20-30 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Best course in the area
