Whisper Creek was a 5 star course when we moved here 5 years ago. It had attractive plantings, volunteers kept divots filled, lots of helpful senior citizen staff to greet, unload clubs, etc. There was water and snacks on every cart and the pace of play was pretty good.
Since Billy Casper Golf bought/took over the course they have ripped out all the perrenial flowers(minimum upkeep), ereduced the staff and volunteers,(no more help at club drop) and in general let the course become a cow pasture. They have lowered prices so that the riff raff that plays here has no respect for the golf course. 5 and 6 hour rounds are the norm. They are even losing resident members that have belonged for years. The place has gone to pot!! They have reduced tee times to 8 minutes but the rangers who will not enforce quick play. The almighty dollar is their only goal. The ladies clothing section of the pro shop has had the same stuff hanging there for 2 years (they claim they are getting new mechandise this year). There is a constant shortage of carts when they have an outing. This place needs to be re-evaluated. They are running on their reputation from about 7 or 8 years ago when it was owned by Del Webb.
