I have heard about Thumper Pond Golf Course for several years. I recently had the opportunity to treat myself to a round at the course. It is hewn out of pine forest and is in excellent shape. Fairways are somewhat narrow (but fair). There is not much rough before you are in the pines. The pine trees make you feel like you are the only group on the course. The staff is friendly. There is a Comfort Suites Motel attached to the clubhouse and a beautiful pond/fountain just outside of the clubhouse/motel. The day we played this course there was a wedding taking place beside the pond (complete with stringed quartet). I will play here again. This is a great golf experience and represents very good value for the money.
