Have always heard of this course. Being from the northern suburbs, it was unusual for us to play here, but we were on our way back from an outing in New Buffalo, Mich and decided to play our last competitive round here on our way back home. This is obviously an older course, and at one time probably a jewel. However, the course needs some upgraded greenskeeping. Example: the greens had been aerated and not filled in. It could have been recently or at the end of 2012. Sand in traps was very thin. This was a Thursday in the middle of May and we were told that they only had 40 reservations. This could be why the conditions were somewhat rough- lack of income. Too bad; a little work and this could be a terrific layout.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
