This course is similar to a typical muni-style course as it needs more money spent on it to improve its appearance and amenities. There are some good holes and some are too long, 440 par 4, or have hazards in unusual locations. For one par 4 hole a layup tee ball may be required to avoid driving into a 60 yard wide pond, but then you may have too far to go to reach the green in regulation and come up short and go in the pond on the far side. A double whammy. The 18th hole is also a pond layup hole.
I play the course because I have a friend that lives there. However, the course is interesting and challenging and fairly priced. Also, the local players are quite cordial to visitors. If I was not up to paying for one of the $100+ courses in the area, Palm Desert Resort would let me get my golf fix for a reasonable price.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Worse than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
