I played Eagle Lodge from the 1970s forward, through the Roxborough CC and Rees Jones iterations and into its reincarnation as ACE Club. In about 10 days, I’ll play over the same ground that’s essentially a Gary Player design, called Union League at Liberty Ridge. Please note that UL@LR bears no resemblance to the original 5400 yard Eagle Lodge but this place… private, semi-private, or public has always been a wonderful place to play the game. This was Rees Jones best work and it is at least as well executed a design as Player’s Jasna Polana. One cannot speak to the Eagle Lodge experience very without mention of long time golf pro, Ed Bolha.
Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
Pace of Play, Difficulty, Ambiance, Staff, Layout, No Houses on Course
