A fun little course playing about 6,600 yards from the black tees, a friend and I were in Sonora for a wedding and decided to get out and get a quick 18 in before the main event. The course is a fun layout even though it feels at times as though there are a lot of dog leg rights to start but the layout is challenging and we found the small tips on the scorecard to be invaluable. California has been experiencing a drought for sometime now and some of the better courses are starting to look stressed but this one was in great shape, the rough was brown as expected but fairways were in good condition and I suspect don't get too much play. The greens however were stellar - courses on the lookout for a superintendent who knows what he/she is doing should look at this place - every green was perfect and reasonably paced, my playing partner is a member at Olympic and kept going on about how good these were.
Some good holes, some great holes (17 was playing 205 over water into a stiff breeze and we both bailed out left), a good test of patient golf.
Next time in that area I will definitely visit again.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, I wouldn't recommend this course, Better than average course for the area, Ranks with the best in this price level
