Stayed at the Wyndham Resort in Pagosa Springs in June 2015 and played this course three times in two weeks (Wyndham offers a small discount on the cost of play for those staying there).
Each round was a very enjoyable experience - beautiful layout, friendly staff, and most times was paired with others who were invariably nice folks and fun to play with. Staff works with you to keep things moving, and having 27 holes helps a lot (two are designated for 18-hole play and one for 9-hole play). Ponderosa and Pinon nines are hilly, with some tough uphill par 4s, while the Meadows nine is flat and has numerous lakes and associated hazards to negotiate. Fairways were in pristine condition (NEVER had a bad lie, even in the first cut of rough), and the greens, though very tricky to read (and can be very fast at times), were in very good shape. A terrific challenge off the white tees for this 67-year old hacker, but I did manage to break 100 my last day (for the first time in a while).
This was my third vacation in Pagosa, and I will be back!!!! I JUST LOVE THIS PLACE.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
