I live in Houston and there are many great courses in that area. But when in the Corpus Christi area I always try to play North Shore (2 - 3 times a year). It is a private club so you have to know a member to play. The layout is links style built on slightly rolling country and sand dunes near and along Corpus Christi bay. The views of the bay and the city are great. When the wind blows hard off the bay the course can be brutal. But on a normal day it is quite playable. Now that the drought in South Texas is over, the course has recovered and is in very good condition. The greens roll fast and true. The fairways are generally wide but avoid the rough as it can be really thick. Beautiful 13th hole, par 3, tee off from a bluff across a slough to a green protected by the bay on two sides. You'll often see wade fishermen catching flounder and red fish in the entrance to the slough. Try to avoid beaning them. There follows 3 holes between the beach and the dunes that will challenge your ball control and course management. Unique, interesting, and sometimes challenging links style course in South Texas. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
