Course is a poor mans Pebble Beach: Fairways are Kakua grass, and greens are small and all of Poa grass. Put extreemly fast downhill, very slow up, and break maddeningly from the sides. Many holes have wonderful views, with holes 4 and 9 being above average. Many trees have caused the course to be less defensive and challenging due to some type of bug killing off many of the beautiful trees lining the fairways, however, these are being replaced - but will take many years to defend the course in the historical manner. The course management or County Officials should put in some traps, pending the growth of these newly planted trees. Beyond this issue, there is really nothing negative to state about this course. Long hitters, without the trees or traps should find the course somewhat at their mercy, however, watch the greens - they can jump up and grab you. For the average driver of the ball, holes 2, 9, and 13 - you will find particularly long. It is a fun course: enjoy yourself and the price is right.

Ths is a poor mans Pebble Beach Course. Small poa greens, kakua fairways, and wonderful ocean views. Only difference is that views aren't directly on the ocean and it does not cost $500/$600 to play. The course in the past number of years has lost some of its teeth due to a disease to its trees, which are being replaced. However, the new growth will not quickly return the old challenge. Tomake the course more competitive pending development a few traps should be added around the course, and possibly left after the trees mature. It would certainly give it more teeth! As it is, it is hard to lose a ball or have a bad lie - the main advantages the course has are the greens, the fog in the A.M. and the tradewinds in the P.M. But it is a wonderful course, and well worth the play. Remember to check the view before hitting your second shot coming down the ninth hole!!!!
