As the course is presented today, I would have to say Indian River is one of the worst conditioned golf courses I have ever played. The greens were like rocks. Large patches of blight, dirt and green painted sand were present on every green. Several fairways were completely without grass or even weeds covering them. Only dirt. Three holes were almost unplayable. The trees that used to lined the fairways have been clear-cut and have left the landscape looking like no-mans-land from World War I.
Over the years I have played Indian River GC over 150 times and I have enjoyed playing the course. But I will not return until investment is made to completely overhaul the course. Until then, I will spend my time and money elsewhere.
