From the parking lot to the first tee this course appears impressive. The clubhouse is beautiful, staff is very informative and friendly, and give this course a country club feel. The practice green is in great condition, the starter more than cordial and helpful with directions to first timers unfamiliar with the course. The layout of the course is lovely with lots of variety, trees, water, sand. Plenty of drinking water, bathrooms and access to the halfway house, with good food, from a few different holes. Unfortunately, slow play gave us plenty of time to look at the condition of the course. The greens are in terrible shape, dry, uneven, bare in spots and were extremely fast. The fairways and rough are inconsistent with some areas marked as ground under repair and other areas that should have been. The recent floods may have caused some of the fairway or rough bare areas, however the greens are in serious need of attention. Cottonwood trees on the back 9 were shedding their white fluff which covered some greens and makes finding balls in the rough more challenging. As I drove up, I thought this course was a diamond in the rough. After playing, it is just rough.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby
