Falcon Crest is a challenging and enjoyable course with its variety of hole layouts and generally excellent course conditions. Carts are recommended for the numerous elevation changes and length. (You would also benefit using a cart on the Freedom course, which is even longer and more difficult).
I see a course maturing in a few more years to where the rough and borders on some of the fairways will be more exotic than dirt and weeds when this will definitely be one of the premiere places to play in the valley. I enjoy getting onto the course whenever I'm in the area from California. Worth the trip!
Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area
