This course plays like two nines -- a boring front that winds through homes, but a BEAUTIFUL back nine -- Scottish links-style -- that takes you out to the Pacific Ocean (right to the point where the Mexican and Alaskan currents converge, creating amazing wave action). Prices are an absolute steal for Monterey golf as it's a local muni, which obviously causes them to cut back on the staff, as the people who work here are notoriously rude. On the wrong day, the weather can be downright nasty -- 40 MPH winds are not unheard of, especially during the spring and summer. Play this one in the fall and winter for the best conditions.
Would travel: 60-120 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
