An announcement was made on March 15, 2011 that Dellwood Country Club had been renamed Paramount Country Club. The course is being rennovated, starting this Spring, by golf architect Jim Urbina.
Jim Urbina who was named 2010 Architect of the Year worked with noted golf course architect Tom Doak for 17 years and played an integral role in the work done at Pacific Dunes, Ballyneal, and Sebonack. Urbina recently co-designed Old Macdonald, the fourth course at the Bandon Dunes Resort, which opened to rave reviews in summer 2010. He has consulted with many of the finest golf courses in the world, including the San Francisco Golf Club (another Tillinghast design, ranked #11 in the nation), Garden City Golf Club (#18), Pasatiempo Golf Club (#30), Yeaman's Hall (#39), The Valley Club (#41), and White Bear Yacht Club (#60) among others.
