Battle Island is short, running less than 6,000 even from the tips. However, many of the greens are elevated making birdies opportunities difficult. Several holes feature trouble such as woods or water, or even a busy state road. On the weekdays the whole course can be walked for a dollar a hole, and a special senior discount is available (10$ to walk 18). The fairways are watered and are generally in nice shape, not perfect. Early in the season the course was in substandard shape, but the transformation into the summer months has been drastic. The greens are beautiful and smooth. You will definitely get your money's worth here.
Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
